Engineers are not born, they are made. IT engineers are now widely recognized as an essential source of tools and techniques for advancement in nearly all spheres of human endeavor. Department has well qualified and experience faculty to inspire the students to develop their technical skills. The department was established with the objective of producing highly proficient technocrats who can meet the standards of the corporate. All the Faculty members of the Department have been actively participating and contributing in National and International Conferences and Seminars every year. Our institute is working as remote centre for IIT Bombay through which different workshops have been organizing and organized by IIT faculty to train our faculty. Right from its inception, the department has been offering excellent infrastructural facilities to motivate students to meet the burgeoning demands of IT industry. The Department’s focus is on training of latest software’s, online live projects, motivation for learning, intellectual efficacy and self-reliance which provide the best foundation for continuing professional achievement. Our Infrastructure facilitates classrooms with modern teaching aids, a requisite number of books and journals; Computer Laboratories, with Internet Facilities.

PROGRAM (B. Engg.) EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The Program Educational Objectives of the Information Technology programme are designed to produce skilled engineers who are ready to contribute effectively to the advancement of Information Technology profession. The graduates shall:

  1. 1. Apply scientific, mathematical and theoretical fundamentals of information technology and contribute in the field of research and development.
  2. 2. Adapt to emerging technologies and international work environment for solving engineering problems with a multidisciplinary and user centric approach.

SAP Training Programme

The faculty members and staff of GHRIEM Jalgaon are known for their out-of-the-box teaching and pedagogy methods. One such program, the Visit focuses on preparing the participants to learn about the fluid mechanics & soil mechanics. Industrial visit arrange dated on 01 April 2016 at water & land management Institute, Walmi.

All the second year students of degree in Civil engineering go there for Visit accompanied with Prof. R. K. Tiwari, Prof. S. N. Pawar, & Prof. M. P. Chaudhari. In view of this, the department of Civil Engineering went to water & land management Institute, Walmi. The site visit was also guided by Mr. M. B. Shette.

Students are learnt there from how to calculate the discharge, velocity of water also they see there the various types of channels & how they construct.

 
 

Computer Programming workshop by IIT Bombay

An ISTE workshop on Computer Programming under the National Mission on Education through ICT (MHRD, Govt. of India) conducted by IIT Bombay was organized in the department. This workshop was arranged for the faculties to train them on various aspects of computer programming. The teaching faculties for this workshop were Prof. Deepak B.Phatak (Department of CSE, IIT Bombay) & Prof. Sridhar Iyer (Department of CSE, IIT Bombay). The teaching-learning process was carried on through live video conferencing from IIT Bombay. Within this duration faculties of the department learnt various topics like algorithms, elements of C, C++ programming languages, basic data type, sequential & conditional execution, arrays, matrices & applications, basics of sorting & searching techniques, File processing etc.

 
 

Workshop on Cyber Security, Digital Forensic & Cyber Law

Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology organized a three day Workshop on “Cyber Security, Digital Forensic and Cyber Law” by Falgun Rathod from Cyber Octet Pvt. Ltd. The main focus of the workshop was to build alertness among the students regarding the social networking sites along with “ETHICAL HACKING”. The trainer Falgun Rathod demonstrated live demo to the participants as to how the system gets hacked using TROJON as well as how to prevent unauthorized user (Black Hat Hackers) to damage our system. He also covered the key aspects of “CYBER LAWS”.

 
 

A Guest Lecture On - Mobile Computing: A Wireless Communication

Department of Computer Science and Engineering has organized a Guest Lecture on “Mobile Computing –A wireless communication” by Mr.Vinod Mahajan (Sub-Divisional Engineer) from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Jalgaon. On 21st March 2016.

The Guest Lecture was arranged for TE CSE & BE CSE Students. Ms.Sonal Patil (HOD, IT Department) and all teaching & Non-teaching staff were present for inauguration ceremony.

The main focus of this Seminar was to make students aware of trends and technology that are making mobile phones much more viable for users.

During the session Mr.Vinod Mahajan had talked on various generations of networking i.e. 2G, 2.5G, and 3G and so on. The speaker also talked about Cellular Technology and radio Communication. He discussed about wired communication, Wireless Communication and basics of Communication system.

At the end of Seminar he concludes a lot of career options in Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and many more technical companies by approaching to GATE and some of other exams.

 
 

A Guest Lecture on – Coding Standards & Industrial Standards for Project Development

Department of Computer Science and Engineering has organized a Guest Lecture on “Coding Standards & Industrial Standards for Project Development” by Dr.Radhakrishna Naik (Vice Principal) Marathwada Institute of Technology, Aurangabad. On 18th March 2016.

The Guest Lecture was arranged for TE CSE & BE CSE Students. Ms.Sonal Patil (HOD, IT Department) and all teaching & Non-teaching staff were present for inauguration ceremony.

The main focus of this Seminar was to make students aware of about different programming coding standards and industrial standards for project development that which are helpful for developing the code.

During the session Dr.Radhakrishna Naik had talked about various coding standards, Indentation of Programs. The speaker also talked about Camel Case. The Camel Case or Camel Caps is the practice of writing compound words or phrases such that each word or abbreviation begins with a capital letter.

At the end of Seminar he concludes a lot of career options in IT Industry & Concepts of Software Engineering which are helpful in software industry.

 
 

A One Day Workshop on .Net & CSS

Department of Computer Science and Engineering has organized a One day workshop on “.Net and Cascading Style Sheet (CSS)” by Mr.Santosh Mahale Asst. Professor in IT Department from S.N.J.B. KBJ COE Chandwad, NASIK. On 22nd March 2016.

The Guest Lecture was arranged for TE CSE & BE CSE Students. Ms.Sonal Patil (HOD, IT Department) and all teaching & Non-teaching staff were present for inauguration ceremony.

The main focus of this workshop was to make students aware about importance of .Net & CSS in IT Industry.

During the session Mr.Santosh Mahale had talked about basics of .Net frameworks, basics tools & HTML Commands that are useful for website development. The speaker also talked about Static webpage & Dynamic webpage, How to create database and how to make connectivity between SQL Server 2008 & Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. At the end of workshop he concludes there are lots of career options in software industry.

Introduction:

The phrase Internet of Things (IoT) a vision of the future Internet where connecting physical things. Building IoTs has advanced significantly in the last couple of years since it has added a new dimension to the world of information and communication technologies. The development of the Internet of Things will revolutionize a number of sectors, from automation, transportation, energy, healthcare, financial services to nanotechnology. IoTs technology can also be applied to create a new concept and wide development space for smart homes to provide intelligence, comfort and to improve the quality of life.

Introduction:

India is agriculture based country. Now a days there are different communication technologies available specially for farmers. Many newspapers, magazines, call centers (Kisan call centers), websites, Television programs, SMS, Channels are available for the knowledge, and modern farming techniques, supplementary occupation, animal husbandry. By using ICT, farmers can decide which crop is cultivated in particular season, they get the information of new ideas in agriculture, new researches, market rates, global scenario in agriculture etc. But due to lack of this communication technology knowledge, many farmers are not sill referring this technology. It is important to know how many farmers are using ICT for the farming. Here Yawal region of Khandesh is selected as this region some farmers are very rich and some are poor.

The faculty members Prof. Sonal Patil, Prof.Rahul Chinchore and Prof.Govinda Borse of IT Department of GHRIEM, Jalgaon successfully completed IIT Bombay’s course “Educational Technology for Engineering Teachers.” This course provided an introduction to research-based and learner-centered pedagogy for effectively integrating ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in engineering education. These strategies can be applied to design materials and activities for topics in teachers’ own domain. This course is important to become informed teachers and tackle teaching-learning problems competently. This course was consisting of various videos and assignments. The faculty members successfully completed all the assignments and achieved Honor Code Certificate. Honorable Executive Director Mr. Pritam Raisoni, Dr. Prabhakar Bhat (Principal-GHRIEM, Jalgaon), Heads of the departments & the entire staff congratulated them for their achievement.



Achieved First Prize in National Level Paper Presentation Competition

 

Prof. Rahul Chinchore (Asst Professor– IT Department) of GHRIEM, Jalgaon presented a paper entitled as, “Intrusion Detection System Using Layered Approach & Hidden Markov Model” in the National level paper presentation competition ‘Advances in Networking, Embedded System & Communication’ at GHRCEM, Wagholi, Pune. With his skillful presentation he achieved First Prize in this competition. Honorable Executive Director-RGI, Jalgaon Mr. Pritam Raisoni, Dr. Prabhakar Bhat (Principal-GHRIEM, Jalgaon) and the entire teaching & non teaching staff congratulated him for his success.


Selection as a Referee for International Journals COMPUSOFT-IJCAT and IJCA

Prof. Sonal Patil (Head of IT department) has been invited as a referee for COMPUSOFT-IJCAT journal which has an impact factor of 6.06 as well as of IJCA which has impact factor 2.31. She is also referee to Elsevier journals. Recently she has also published her book on subject “Computer Organization” of Second Year CSE/IT Engineering under NMU. Honorable Executive Director Mr. Pritam Raisoni, Dr. Prabhakar Bhat (Principal-GHRIEM, Jalgaon) & the entire teaching staff congratulated her for this great achievement.

A Guest Lecture on Cloud Computing & Security Organized by the Department of Computer and IT at GHRIEM, Jalgaon

A Guest lecture on Cloud computing and Security was conducted by Prof. Smita Chaudhari of I2IT, Hinjwadi Pune on 29th March 2016. She has extensive experience in teaching to various students of Mumbai and Pune University. On the day Prof. Smita explained the concepts of Cloud Computing, Cloud Services, deployment models and its importance, types and need of Security in Cloud. She also told about various cloud services provided by google like google docs, google drive and Microsoft Azure. She also added about the services still having scope, so that students can work in that area of cloud. At this occasion Prof. Sonal Patil (Head of IT department and Prof. P.P. Rewagad (Head of CSE department) with all the faculty members of IT and computer department were present.

 
 

A workshop on ‘Technical Communication’ by IIT Bombay at GHRIEM, Jalgaon

An ISTE workshop on ‘Technical Communication under the National Mission on Education through ICT(MHRD, Govt. Of India) conducted by IIT Bombay was organized at G.H.Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Management, Jalgaon. Thisworkshop was arranged for the faculty members to train them on various aspects of Technical Communication. It was scheduled from 30th November to 5th December 2015. The teaching faculty members forthis workshop were Prof. P. Sunthar, Prof. M.P.Gururajan, Prof. Leena Jha, Prof. Sahana Murthy, Prof. Ambarish Kunwar, Prof.Ashish Pandey, Prof.Virendra Sethi, Prof. Sachin Patwardhan of IIT,Bombay. The teaching learning process was carried on through live video conferencing from IIT Bombay. Within this duration faculty members of the institute learnt various topics like Listening and Reading Skills, Writing Skills, Oral and Presentation Skills, Communication Ethics etc. Prof. Rahul Chinchore (Remote Center Coordinator), Prof. Manoj Bagde (Workshop Coordinator) & Mr. Abhijit More (System Administrator) took efforts to make this workshop successful.

 
 

Workshop on Latex

With the need and importance of flexible tool like Latex where chances of errors and mistakes are very less, Latex workshop was organized for ME CSE and ME Electronics students. Prof. Mukund Patil (Head of Mechanical Department) and Prof. Bhawade conducted the workshop throughout the day. Students experienced hands on how to create document and presentation using MikTex editor. Prof. Mukund Patil and Prof. Bawade explained the importance and advantages of Latex in preparing the thesis and report. All the materials like notes, instructions, videos were distributed to students. Honorable Principal Dr. Prabhakar Bhat, Head of Electronics Department Prof. Harish Bhangale, Head of IT Department Prof. Sonal Patil, and ME Coordinator Mrs. Swati Patil were present at this occasion and took efforts for success of this workshop.

 
 

Celebration of Teachers Day

A Teachers Day was celebrated by the students of IT department on 5th September on the occasion of Birthday of Dr. Radhakrishnan. The students organized a short but sweet programme to show their love & respect for the teachers. The celebration began with lamp lighting at the hands of Prof. Sonal Patil (Head of IT Department) in presence of all the faculty members of the department. Prof. Sonal Patil guided & motivated students to become a successful engineer. All the faculty members shared their views & thoughts and inspired the students. Some of the students shared their experiences. Then various fun games & song dedications made the environment entertaining. Students as well as faculty members enjoyed the celebration.

 
 

A Workshop by Dr. Rajiv Khurana

Raisoni Group has always gone an extra mile in building excellence in whatever they do. As a part of it a workshop named “RAISE” was organized at GHRIEM, Jalgaon for the teaching & non teaching staff of the institute. This workshop, a yet another endeavor focusing on bringing Thinkers & Champions of change together to work towards the common dreams & goals. The group has initiated a major transformation initiative to become a trendsetter in building & strengthening the future for the learners. To conduct this workshop the institute invited a man of distinction, a role model, a very eminent personality Mr. Rajeev Khurana. He is an Ace trainer & a proficient expert, an international management consultant, trainer, venture, mentor, executive coach by description, a well published writer, author & digital expressionist & the list is endless. He has done his B.Com from Shriram College of Commerce, Delhi University. He is a law graduate & a company secretary. He has pursued his PGDBM from Sweden, England. He is a certified management consultant Institute of Management Consultants of India. He is also a National Award winner under ministry of Science & Technology, India.

On the day, the workshop inaugurated at the hands of distinguished dignitaries Dr. Sanjeev Khurana, honorable Executive Director Mr. Pritam Raisoni, Principal Dr. Prabhakar Bhat, honorable Director GHRIIT Dr. Priti Agrawal in presence of head of all departments. After the inauguration Dr. Khurana began he workshop with his different exercises. He focused on various action plans to be taken for Innovative & Smart Education. He briefed the education scenario-Past, Present & future. He gave the institute 7 Pillars– Resource Optimization, Academic Excellence, Image Branding, Students Value Enhancement, Operational Standards & Quality, New Ideas & Practice & Image building & branding. He guided & motivated the participants. The participants were pleased to listen from an eminent personality & some of them gave feedback about the workshop.

 
 

A workshop on “Journey of Life-Know Thyself”

A workshop on “Journey of Life-Know Thyself” was organized at G.H.Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Management, Jalgaon for the teaching & non teaching staff of the institute. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Sanjay Shah who is working as Chief Medical Officer of S.V. National Institute of Technology, Surat since 17 years. He has graduated from B.J. Medical College, Pune and post graduate from Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune. Dr. Sanjay G. Shah, have special interests in health education with holistic approach for attaining optimum health. So far he has conducted 127 programs on Health Awareness. The topics were:

  • “Introspection for Ethical Living” - It was a multimedia presentation on Universal Human Values with focus on Mental, Emotional, Spiritual & Social wellbeing.
  • “Nation Building & Silent Killers” - It was a multimedia presentation inspiring the youth for their role in nation building & sharing with them the scientific information on substance abuse with focus on tobacco addiction.
  • “Awareness about Lifestyle Diseases”- He explained about the increasing westernization of lifestyle in the past decade in India which resulted into arise of many diseases like Heart disease, Cancers, Hypertension, Diabetes etc.

Through his presentations he briefed about the seven core values– Pleasure, Peace, Happiness, Knowledge, Will power, Love & Purity. Along with this, he also presented various motivational videos to inspire the audience. With this workshop all the staff members of the institute enjoyed the “Journey of Life.”

 
 

Industrial Visit

Industrial Visit at TransElectrical

Industrial visit was carried out at TransElectrical on 05th February 2016 for the final, third and second year engineering students of CSE and IT department of G. H. Raisoni Institute of Engineering And Management, Jalgaon. The main objective behind this industrial visit was to make the students understand about new emerging technologies for developing Control Panels. With the institutional co-operation, the industrial visit was held at TransElectrical, MIDC, Jalgaon with Prof. Swati Patil, Prof.Dipti Sonawane, Prof. Rahul Chinchore, Prof.Govinda Borse and Prof. Hemant Mande. The students experienced & learnt various aspects of making Control Panels. With the proper guidance of Mr. Yogendra Borole students learnt complete process of developing Control Panels which would be very helpful to study the system. Students took visit of complete site and observed internal circuitry of the Control Panel. It was a great learning experience for the students. Head of the CSE Department Prof. P.P.Rewagad and Head of the IT Department Prof.Sonal Patil guided to arrange this Industrial visit.
